Couple wonders how furniture keeps being moved—So set up camera to find out

June 7, 2024

Confused and frustrated with the furniture moving without an explanation, a couple decided to set up a camera to find the culprit—and the result was not what they expected.

A May 3 Instagram video posted by shows a clear-eyed view into this couple’s home: an open-floor concept between the kitchen and living room. They placed a in this location to, for once and for all, find out how the kept moving. Not only did the camera catch who was responsible for the rearranging, but it also caught the entire crime.

The family’s two Australian shepherds were having a grand old time running back and forth between the rooms, chasing each other. As it turns out, the dogs used the furniture during their playtime, jumping onto the couch and, a second later, hopping off to gain speed and head back into the kitchen.

But with all the movement, they unknowingly pushed the couch further back with each jump. Maybe they knew it was happening, but they didn’t care. Playtime took priority.

The dogs were unfazed when the couch slid across the each time they jumped on it. All their attention was on chasing each other. Plus, they were probably only moving it because it was in their way and they didn’t want to ruin it. They were actually doing a favor for their parents.

Although the owners didn’t want their furniture rearranged, they now know what these dogs are capable of. They have even offered others to use their dogs as movers. The caption reads: “We’re available for hire—will work for treats.”
