UNLOCKED: Here Are the Answers to the ‘Door Hunt’ Contest

E.C. Historic Preservation Foundation sponsored hunt of notable doorways

Did you have what it took to identify all (or at least some) of the 15 historic Eau Claire doors ?

Inside the “At Home” special section of that issue was a series of photos of the doorways of a number of residential and commercial buildings from around multiple Eau Claire neighborhoods. We published them as part of the Eau Claire Historic Preservation Foundation’s annual hunt. (As it happens, May is Historic Preservation Month.)

In the past, the foundation has asked hunters to identify photos of entire buildings or specific architectural elements. This year, the focus was on doors that ranged widely in size and style.

The contest may be over – entries had to be emailed or postmarked by May 20 – but if you took part (or are simply curious about scoping out some interesting architecture), here are the correct answers:
