The Green Bay Packers have a lot of young talent on the roster. Green Bay a season ago was just 9-8, but they made noise in the NFL postseason by beating the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC Wild Card Round. The Packers lost to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Divisional Round, but they gave them everything they could handle.
Green Bay is going to have high expectations this season. Quarterback Jordan Love is going to hopefully sign a contract extension before the start of the 2024 season. He became a household name for the Green Bay Packers after last season ended.
Because of this, some people think that quarterback Jordan Love could be an MVP candidate this season. Some other young players on the Green Bay Packers roster could be a household name by the end of the season.
2023 Fifth-Round Pick Dontayvion Wicks Could Be a Household Name For the Green Bay Packers At the End of the 2024 Season

Brad Gagnon of Bleacher Report wrote an article about six potential backup players who could be a household name by the end of the 2024 season. He thinks that wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks, who was a former fifth-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft could be a household name for the franchise.
Wicks is currently on the second unit at the wide receiver position for the Green Bay Packers. Christian Watson, Jayden Reed, and Romeo Doubs are ahead of Dontayvion Wicks on the depth chart. Gagnon said about Wicks:
“None of those guys has done enough to earn a heavy grip on an every-down, go-to role. I could easily see Wicks stealing Doubs’ job outside. Wicks was the only guy in that group to catch at least 67 percent of the passes on which he was targeted while averaging more than 14.0 yards per reception. He roasted his teammates in terms of yards per target. He also came on late as a rookie, with 187 yards and three touchdowns in his final three 2023 regular-season games.”
Wicks a season ago as a rookie with the Packers caught 39 passes for 581 yards receiving and four touchdowns. He averaged 14.9 yards per catch. Dontayvion Wicks was targeted 58 times last season.

It would not be a surprise to see Dontayvion Wicks as one of the starters by the end of the year because Christian Watson had injuries to his hamstring last year. Watson hopes to have solved that issue, but it remains to be seen. It would not be a surprise to see Wicks dominate training camp and force head coach Matt LaFleur to make an uncomfortable decision about one of the other wide receivers.
